Not a real stamp, however, I do think my attempt to make my own postage isn’t too bad.
Broken May 7, 2009
Alas my Olympus E-410 has decided to break. The XD slot has never taken a card, and was broke from the start, but I never really worried about it. The focus is out, only slightly, but to be honest I can see that it is out more than I can really bare. Finally, the housing inside that is part of the viewfinder has dropped out, so you cannot see what you want to photograph properly as the focus is now out on the slr mirror.
As usual more things break at the same time, and thank god for guarantees. My macro lens died too. I have only used it a hand full of times and when I loaded it on the body nothing happened. I looked through the viewfinder and blur. I changed to manual focus, and nothing. Damn these four third lenses. SO that has had to go back now.
I am now cameraless, well, not really, I do have another 60+ cameras to use but my baby is gone. I secretly am hoping that Olympus will replace it with a new E-510 due to all the problems I am having as I sent them a quick note to say how disappointed I am with Olympus.
More later when I either get it back, or get a new one.
Pinhole Project May 3, 2009
Using 3” x 3” photographic negative paper and a pinhole box I took the following images. I admit that this is the first time I have done this properly, from taking the picture to developing the print, so the images are not great as I have to start getting used to the exposure time, but I am sure I will be able to get them right in time. The other problem I had was over developing the print in the development bath, again, something I will learn in time.
Print One – The Street
This was my first attempt, which as can be seen has a little chemical fogging and over developed.
Print Two – The Garden
The fogging on this one at the bottom was caused by the safe light I was using, not that safe. Also I think the chemicals too were a problem. Sepia added after.
